The boat leaves at 6:30 am for a 10 hour fishing trip. However, long before 6 am, there are fishermen (and yes, they’re men) on the Opononi wharf. Some have been around since 5 am or earlier.
Gary, formerly in construction and an Aucklander, now spends his time at sea up north.
