The interior of the cafe, where you can sit on those gloriously rainy days. Sunny days are for the outdoors, but it’s the indoors that really shine. Normally these benches would be out on the grass, but today was rainy and almost closing time.

Epilogue: Waipu has been our haunt for many years in a row. We love the dunes, the crazy sheep, the summery feel and go back often. However, we’d never run into this cafe, though it had been going for several years. On this lovely rainy day, we decided to turn in while getting back to Auckland. Kent from Hell Hole Cafe suggested we stop in here. We weren’t so sure, but the moment we saw the cafe, we knew all was well with the world. It’s not an all day cafe, so make sure you get there earlier in the day. Oh, and there’s some great Vietnamese Banh-mi on weekends. That takes a bit of time to make and probably gets snapped up quickly. This was a great stop for us and it was then time to head back to Auckland.
