Centipede!
When Michael (the dad in the picture) was young, he cleared a bit of the forest to make pathway loop for his mum. Then as he moved away to Christchurch the forest took over. He later got married to Hannah and have two kids. He cleared the track yet again for a second “mum”. Hence it’s known as Mum’s Track.
